Amorette Rancourt Interior, 2017-08-25 12:57:47. The creative team at InForm designed the Elwood Townhouse, a private residence located in Elwood, Australia. A steel, glass, wood, and concrete exterior creates a straightforward and highly modern look. Inside, it‘s white walls and lots of light wood — just right for a home that includes a full-blown yoga studio.
Guillaume Goguen Bedroom, 2017-12-05 12:39:28. Want to use wood in an understated way? This full wooden wall adds warmth to grey, while housing a black glass door and industrial white light. Diamond patterns cover this feature wall, a focal point in a room full of wood. A lamp to the side illuminates its finer detail, as an old English ceiling sets the scene.
Annette Clavette Outdoor, 2017-12-05 11:44:55. Another Norwegian lookout, Seljord Watchtower was designed by Oslo and Bodø-based Rintala Eggertsson Architects. The watchtower was partly conceived and installed as a tribute to ‘Selma’, a legendary sea serpent living in the adjacent lake. The Seljord municipality is often visited by tourists, locals and avid bird-watchers. The twelve-metre-high tower has a periscope-like appearance and three lookout points: one at the tower’s apex, looking across Seljord lake, and two en route to the top. Also designed by Saunders Architecture, Stokke Forest Stair in Øye Sculpture Park, Norway, was completed in 2012. A clever woodland installation, the stairway provides the visitor with an elevated vantage point above the forest’s floor. The Stokke Forest Stair was transported by helicopter, and a careful analysis of the site meant no trees were felled in order to accommodate the structure.
Byron Guibord Interior, 2017-12-05 12:03:15. “A small den provides a quiet retreat and addresses the front deck and garden,“ the architects added. “On the ground floor the study, kitchen and living areas flow around a glazed central courtyard“.
Lorraine Duplanty Furniture, 2017-12-05 12:56:14. Modern wicker was initially developed as a basket weaving technique. In time, it evolved into furniture. By the 17th century, in Northern Europe, wicker looked a lot like it does today. The trend soon spread all over the world and became as popular and as common as it is today. Then, in the mid 19th century it reached the United States where it was quickly industrialized and mass-produced.
Durandana Patenaude Furniture, 2017-12-05 12:30:49. Synthetic wicker was then invented, also in the US. This allowed it to become more durable and resistant to weather and pests. Modern wicker is usually made from rattan and it‘s really versatile. In fact, rattan furniture can fit in nearly any interior, also being very popular outdoors. It‘s appreciated for its casual and airy appearance, usually being associated with manual labor and unique hand-crafted designs.
Delit Desaulniers Bedroom, 2017-12-05 12:21:33. Wooden walls provide the perfect canvas for couples. Accompanied by grey and a large square window, panelled shafts add a contemporary feel to an otherwise basic bedroom. Wondering where the light is coming from? True to his trademark style, Kovr combines a wooden wall with smartphone-controlled LED lighting, making a striking design feature rise out of thin air.
Brigitte Dupuis Bedroom, 2017-12-05 11:51:47. The earth was one Gondwanaland, before tectonic plates shifted its surface. This wooden-panelled design shows the earth before continents and countries, with LED-lit splits upon a warm wooden floor. Light and bright is the theme of this wooden-panelled bedroom. Forming curved waves upon plywood, it creates an interesting interplay with a planet-like light.
